Back in Paris, back to old habits

Aaarrggghhhh! The Musketeers are back and still losing. All credit to Rhein, who spotted us a 17point lead then came back to win (on a fourth-down pass with under two mins remaining), but I do sometimes wonder what I have to do to get a win! I'll send Paul a fiver by PayPal and see what happens
.
Does anyone know what the greatest comeback in FWL history is? (I don't mean Mario's return to Austria). I remember Paris giving away a 17 point lead to Frankfurt many seasons ago.

Perhaps Jason can shed some light on this as he may know the greatest comeback ever.
I'll have to have a look through the play by plays one day in the future as i have all of them, just takes some time going through each one !
One of the greatest games ever was the San Antonio Stan Gelbaugh 5 td game, what i might do is to print the scoring log for each of these great games.
Looking at the records file (which doesnt work too well !) it has these games...
82 - Frankfurt (62) vs Montreal (20), Oct 12, 2003
79 - San Antonio (65) vs Ohio (14), Sep 28, 1997
77 - San Antonio (46) vs Frankfurt (31), Sep 14, 1997
76 - Birmingham (41) vs San Antonio (35), Nov 1, 1998
73 - Ohio (42) vs Paris (31), Oct 12, 1997
I think the Birmingham/San Antonio game is one of the best ever if memory serves me right. I'll just check out the play by play file now......
BF 10 21 7 3 - 41
SA 7 14 7 7 - 35
Surprisingly the 4Q was quite boring, after the Riders td to make it 38-35 there were 6 punts and the final Riders drive was a 4 play -13 yard drive !
Famous just for Gelbaughs record setting 5 td performance.
Pity theres no way to easily find out the greatest comebacks etc apart from to do it by hand, any offers ?!?

Shouldn't be too hard to do with a little Visual Basic or C program. Not that I'm volunteering. Volker is a computer science expert, isn't he?!
Could all the play-by-plays be zipped-up and put on the website?

Thats what i was thinking of doing as i think i have a lot more webspace now. I'll upload the play by plays and also 'play.exe'. When used with the play by play log files it creates the scoring data and drives etc which is quite cool
I'll try and do that this weekend, so many of them !
After srecords.htm messed up a few seasons back i still want to go back through and try to run each week, note the new records and then compile by hand the proper srecords.htm . Be time consuming but i used to love that for the records etc.
David - Do you know much about srecords.htm ? I think the problem was one set of files were missing, maybe after a season had finished and then when i tried to run the Week 1 files it didnt like them and messed up.
History.htm is a file i do by hand which isnt too bad, i do hope to get srecords.htm up to date at some stage though

Wow its great looking back at that old game, the stars on that Frankfurt team both on offense and defense were incredible. A great great team, funny how you get attached to players ! Its a shame Case and Phillips had to retire, i loved the way Case led his team to the FWL Bowl in his final season though. His 400+ yard performance upsetting Scotland in the EFC Championship was a great send off

Yes, funny how I still remember all the great names. I sometimes know my Galaxy better then the real NFLE teams I watched and then I wonder why the player is actually in another NFLE team ;-)
This game was definitely one of the best ever. A lot of records set and an overall perfect game.
I would have loved to see Bobby Phillips have some good games in his last season, but even when I
was starting him he just did no longer perform well, okay it was also a terrible off-season for the whole team.

Well Phillips had a great final starting season in Season 10.
He rushed for over 1000 yards, made the All-FWL team and also had a 74 yard td run in the FWL Bowl. Just a pity he was a backup his final year ;-)

He started the season as a backup, but when I had given up the season I let him start as HB1 but still then he did no longer perform well, but as I said before the whole team was in disarray and beeing behind is not helpfull for the running game.
Right now Aska is himself allready a veteran player and performing very nicely :-)

The greatest comeback ever? I think London's surrendered dozens of them, haven't we?

I'm the same! I still don't believe that Dino Philyaw played for the Claymores and not the London Monarchs!
