ADKs GM is axed!

The Austrian DarkKnights announced that they would not rely on legendary GM Mario Kreiner anymore. No details of financial agreements where announced.
 
Mario Kreiner build his own legacy by building a powerhouse-team from day one of the FWL until he left after a couple of seasons, clinching the "FWLs big4" in season #3 when he won the Divisional crown, the Conference, the FWL-Bowl and was named GM of the year. ADK dominated the EFC west with 4 consecutive divisional titles.
After a break he returned and turned the - then - leagues worst team with about 70 trades to the team back on top when he achieved the "FWLs big4" in season #15.
 
Kreiner leaves the league with 2 Coach of the year - awards, 2 FWL-Bowls, 2 Conference-titles and 7 divisional-titles in just 11 seasons(!). Kreiner recorded almost 10 wins/season in average!
 
"My special thanks goes out to Commissioner Paul Johns who does a tremendous job. I always coached and traded my heart out, but within the last couple of month i could see that my heart was not in the game anymore. That is why i have to leave the worlds greatest and most shining franchise. I leave one of the youngest and yet best teams in the league and consider ADK as one of the frontrunners for the FWL-Bowl this season."
 
ADK stated that Kreiner would go on trading and would select players in the draft if there is no immediate substitute to be found, but won´t be in charge of the team anymore in week one. Kreiner did not comment questions regarding a possible return to the league in the future....

A sad day for the FWL !

one of the most active GMs and a true original character is going to leave us once more.
The only hope is, that like Bill Parcels, he will be back sometimes if the time is right again ;-)

Yep huge shame.  He has left Austria in good condition though.  I've started to contact some people about the GM job but so far its been quiet.  I hope to get someone in charge in time for the draft but if not its kind of Mario to offer to do the draft before he leaves.

The FWL Commissioner has said that two people have been contacted about the Austrian and Barcelona GM jobs and an announcement soon will be made regarding the new GM's.

"We wish to thank (Mario) Kreiner for his fantastic effort in the FWL and we hope he will rejoin the league at some point in the future" said the Commish.  "We are very sad to see him go specially with a talented roster and several high draft picks but we accept his resignation."

"We have contacted several high profile coaches around the world and we will have their signatures for the new roles signed in the next day or two.  We have whittled down the GM's to a choice of two out of many applicants and they are both looking forward to running their new teams".

Look out for an announcement in the next 24-48 hours and in time for the FWL draft this sunday at 6pm GMT

Update - We have now reached agreement with both GM's, final contracts are being signed and we hope very soon we can announce the two GM's who will be taking over their new teams.

NEWS:

Fans gathered in the streets of Vienna and a riot broke out when rumors where spread that Kreiners hated ex-rival Jason Compton might take over the team.

Undisclosed sources said that ADK would do EVERYTHING in order to prevent Compton as GM and that Kreiner was made a HUGE offer to withdraw his resignation.
"If Compton takes over that would be like the Taliban-government would be led by George W. Bush", a source said.

Kreiner himself refused to comment, but the legendary rivalry between him and Jason Compton could climb up an unexpected new level if the unthinkeable would happen....
