GM Austria DarkKnights

« on: July 19, 2005, 07:25:51 AM »

Har har har..... Times are changing..... I remember that i hopped on to the FWL-train in season1 after the initial rosters where set up and (i think) before the draft.

I had 2 highlights on my initial roster (before any FWL-activity started):

The oldest player ever to wear a DarkKnights-Jersey:
O  QB4    11  Evans, Vince             OK    18     65 69 62 77 53 66 64 67

The worst pleyer ever to make it to the DarkKnights-Roster
I  QB      1  Rouzpy, Tucker           OK     R     41 44 36 51 46 26 54 44

The FWL is full of history and funny stories.....

Well Year 1 was fun as we could put a lot of old NFL veterans in the FWL who would only last a year.

The skill levels of players back then were so low compared to now.

Didnt realise how bad that QB Rouzpy was !! Its quite fun looking back at the old rosters... http://www.fwl.org.uk/teams1.htm

Yep i love the stories in the FWL.

WR Jim Neely (Ireland/London) was a strange player...

I  WR     85  Neely, Jim               OK     5     92 76 79 56 53 75 46 52  (HA of 53 !)

He had blazing speed but TERRIBLE hands and was a favourite of mine and Jasons because he was so bad.

Normally a FB might catch 7 passes for 29 yards as they catch short passes but in Season 2....

Neely had 5 catches for 26 yards, (5.2 avg) , 9L but did catch a touchdown pass from Pat Barnes !
KO stats werent that bad... 31     671   21.6   44    0

Those were his only stats in the FWL ever in Season 2.

5 catches for 26 yards as a WR !!! Terrible

Its funny looking back at the first rosters.....

http://www.fwl.org.uk/teams1.htm#A14

I mean look how bad Kerry Joseph was !....

O  QB3    12  Joseph, Kerry            OK     2     54 71 59 66 74 37 75 64

Actually went onto have a decent career with NY/Amsterdam.

Thankfully...

I  WR     80  Grayon, Ian              OK    12     45 63 41 23 53 46 33 26

Grayon didnt do much with your team, awful player !

K Don Silvestri was awful....

A  K1      4  Silvestri, Don           OK     6     38 40 46 79 24 39 58 70

Somehow hit 11 of 17 FG's that year !
