1) HB Robert Edwards, Paris - Slow to develop but Edwards has really come into his own finally.  Last year ran for a career best 974 yards at a great 4.9 average and caught 67 passes.  S12 rushed for 586 yards, S11 788 yards, S10 819 yards, S9 684 yards and 735 yards and 11 td's as a rookie.  Suffered injuries in S12 but bounced back well last year to have a career year.  Never had 1000 yards in a season but is still an excellent RB.

2) DE Paul Spicer, Mexico - Great pick by the Aztecs, traded to Montreal near the end of Season 12 where he then went onto win an FWL Bowl ring with Montreal.  Has had 3 double digit sack seasons (14 and 13 sacks twice) and despite a drop off last year to 25 tackles and 6 sacks is still regarded as a top D-Liner in the league.

3) CB Mustafah Muhummad, Birmingham - Had 61 tackles and an int in his rookie season, and had over 30 tackles in S9 and 10 with an int in S10 also.  51 tackles in S11 and 63 tackles in S12.  Last year in a reserve role had an interception and 22 tackles, has showed some promise but as the #3 overall pick so far he has been somewhat of a bust.

4) QB Carlos Alrimirano, Austria - Former DarkKnights GM David Bridson seemed to have a plan for Austria, he wanted to make the team his own and so let go so many veterans for hardly anything, this draft perhaps would make his plan clearer and not so crazy but the draft was awful.  Bridson wanted the top QB with just INT, Alrmirano had great INT (85) but had terrible everything else.  He led his team to a Bowl win in the CFL that year which was the training ground for FWL rookies but was a terrible choice by Austria.  Austria already had Petrus Penkki, Matt Andretti (who had good skills) and Kevin Thompson (ex Glory starter and now Machine backup) as QB's.  Alrimirano was a dire pick and one major reason why Bridson was forced to leave the FWL and is one of the worst GM's of all time.

5) LB Lamont Green, Scottish - Green had 11 tackles as a rookie and 7 in his second season and showed potential in his 3rd year with 34 tackles, 3 sacks and a fumble but was benched the following year as they went to the FWL Bowl and had just 1 tackle.  Just 2 tackles followed in Season 12 and he was cut the season after.  Disappointing player who was a major flop as he was drafted 5th overall.  One half decent year and the rest as a lowly backup.

6) WR Jim Turner, New York - Great choice by NY, Turner is on his way to perhaps every receiving record there is, had 62 catches as a rookie for over 800 yards but since then has had 5 straight 1000 yard seasons and has scored 23 td's the last 5 seasons.  If he carries on like this he could challenge Vance Blundins records.  Longest active streak of 1000 yard seasons in the FWL

7) C Terrance Simmons, Austria (From Amsterdam) - Finally a good Bridson pick.  Simmons has been a starter since day 1 for Austria and started his first few years at C1, then had a year as a backup at C2, then two years as G1 and then finally as T1 the last few seasons.  Great strength and an excellent offensive linemen.

Cool DT DeVone Claybrook, Barcelona - Traded to Montreal after the draft, has a sack in every season, 7 tackles and a sack as a rookie, then 1 tackle 1 sack in S9, 10 tackles and 3 sacks in S10, 21 tackles and 8 sacks in S11, 15 tackles and 5 sacks in S12 and last year 22 tackles and 3 sacks.  Hasnt put up huge figures but has been a great backup player but should have done more considering he was drafted 8th overall.  But has enjoyed great success in Montreal with 4 FWL Bowl appearances and 3 FWL Bowl rings !

9) QB Mike Pawlawski, San Antonio - Traded to Montreal where he was a good backup for several seasons and won a few FWL Bowl rings as a member of the Machine.  Nearly challenged Danny Wuerffel for the starting role one season but was traded to Ohio to stop any QB controversy.  Started for the first time ever in a full season for Ohio last year and threw for nearly 4000 yards, 14 td's and just 3 ints with only 4 fumbles.  Should put up similar great numbers this year.

10) WR Derrick Steagall, Raleigh-Durham - Had a great rookie year with 60 catches but only a 11.4 average and a long of 23.  Just 9 catches the following year and 6 catches in his 3rd year. As WR6 had just 6 catches in S11 and 11 catches in S12.  Last year had just 8 catches but for 165 yards and 2 td's including a 76 yard bomb.  Playing behind Damon Savage, Robert Baker and Chris Brazelle Steagall wont get much chance to contribute more but could be traded for a decent draft pick.  94 SP and 93 HA actually on paper makes him the best Raleigh WR.  A sleeper who could do well as WR1 for other teams.

11) CB DeAuntae Brown, Ohio - Traded to Paris before his rookie year where he had 46 tackles in his first season as a CB3.  Had just 7 tackles in S9 but finally started in S10 and had 55 tackles.  Started in Season 11 where he had 47 tackles, 1 int but was back to a backup in S12 and had just 15 tackles as CB4.  Had 30 tackles last season but has not managed to get back his starting job.

12) S Corey Ivy, Berlin - Had 11 tackles as a rookie, and 11 tackles in his second season.  Finally started in S10 and had 64 tackles and 2 ints to lead the team, had 68 tackles and an int in S11, and 68 tackles in S12, had 74 tackles and an int last season.  Excellent safety who has started the last 4 seasons and will start again this year.

13) T Patrick Venzke, Montreal - Backup for most of his career at G3 but the last two seasons has started at T2.  Been to 4 FWL Bowls and has 3 FWL Bowl rings.  Starting tackle in FWL Bowl XII and last year in a loss to Frankfurt.  Great blocker.

14) C Tom Ashworth, Austria (From Frankfurt) - The Austrian scouting department messed up again big time, despite 3 first round picks the DarkKnights cut two of these players even before the season started and they were so bad no one else signed them.  Austria thought go for the best offensive linemen by just ST.  Ashworth was strong (86) but that was it and nothing else, he retired a season later after sitting on the FA scrapheap all year. .Another terrible pick by Bridson.

15) WR Charles Jordan, Sacramento - Sacramento went through a phase of drafting WR's in the first round.  Jordan had great skills but as a rookie only had 8 catches as a rookie,  he was eventually traded to Birmingham at the start of the following season in exchange for veteran WR Sami Alalamapi.  Jordan went to the Fire but had just 8 catches in his second season in S9.  He won the WR3 job in S10 and had 33 catches for nearly 500 yards and a td.  S11 he had 43 catches but for just an 11.0 average but in S12 Jordan won the WR1 job in training camp and didnt disappoint with a HUGE year of 95 catches, 1284 yards and 10 td's !  He formed a great duo with Jason Tucker.  Last year he switched between WR1 and WR2 and finished with 51 catches and 794 yards and is one of the best trios of WR's in football together with Dante Hall and Tucker.  From a quiet beginning Jordan has shown great play the last two seasons.

16) HB Rashon Spikes, London - Spikes didnt even have a carry in his first 3 seasons and played only special teams then finally was given the role surprisingly in S11 where he played well with 589 yards and 46 catches.  Next year he shared the load again and had 518 yards and 33 catches.  Last season was his best with 745 yards and 49 catches but it obviously wasnt enough as London drafted rookie Jarrett Payton with the 2nd overall pick.  Spikes looks destined to be a backup for a long time.

17) DT Stefan Gamblin, Rhein - Gamlin was a major flop for the Fire in his first 3 seasons as he didnt have one tackle at all and was inactive for nearly all those years.  Finally in S11 he saw some action in his 4th season and registered 5 tackles and 2 sacks to show some potential.  S12 he started and had 33 tackles and 6 sacks to finish 3rd on Rheins sack list, last year he had another good year with 22 tackles and 6 sacks.  A slow developer but has now turned into a very good d-lineman.

18) QB Josh Heupel, Orlando - Your starting QB Jon Denton has just taken you to the playoffs the last 4 seasons going to 2 FWL Bowls and winning one for the first time in franchise history.  Why would the Thunder then draft a QB ? The idea was for Heupel to learn behind Denton for a few seasons and take over.  Heupel was the teams 3rd string for a few seasons sat behind Jon Denton and John Dutton but then at the EOS11 the Thunder drafted QB Tony Romo.  Another strange decision as that season Jon Denton won the leagues MVP award !  Romo somehow won the starting job the following season after a slow start by Denton only for Denton to win back the job last year when Romo started off slowly.  Denton then was so good he was AFC Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in three season.  As for Heupel he hasnt thrown a pass since he was drafted and is sat firmly as the clipboard holder and has been a huge flop for Orlando.  With only 83 INT still after 5 seasons Heupel will be lucky to stay on the roster.

Well thats one of the most annoying things ever with the FWL, said it before but i'll say it again !

I kinda got Davids reasoning as he wanted to make the team his own , he could have made no changes and gone 13-1 and won it all yet again as the former GM Henderson did the year before.

I kinda understood that but i was a bit stupid letting him get rid of so many veterans, when new coaches/GM's arrive thats the way it can be in the NFL, they want their own players etc so i thought give him a chance as he 'might' do something good.

He had a ton of draft picks (could have got even higher ones) but then wasted them on picks, Pete Muego (Ex Skyhawks) left the FWL for that reason, he kinda said best LB by SP and IN and got the player he wanted but that player was dire and rubbish in every single other area so he left the FWL in a huff.

David really did a terrible job and totally dismantled one of the best franchises ever in the FWL, i'll never let that same mistake happen again but i'm angry with myself for letting it happen that time.  If i ever see any stupid trades like that again the GM will probably be asked to leave and the trades rejected.

Disappointing and it took years for Austria to get back to a decent level.  Ross had the foundation of a decent team and that team in a way is now the Ohio DarkKnights you could say but i know you didnt have a lot when you came on board Mario.

At the end of the day its your fault Mario for leaving ;-)  I'm very glad you are back on as your energy level is huge but if it ever gets to the point where you want to leave again then DONT ! Just take things easier in the FWL, you can easily spend just 30 mins a week on the FWL, checking your roster, replying to trades etc

i won´t  i promise.  Grin

GM Kreiner is less "khaky" (wrong spelling probably, sorry but i do not know how to spell the word) since he/i returned but hey life has changed a lot for me since then:
family, two kids, house, very good job, good salary etc etc etc.....

i really enjoy the FWL but i am a bit tired of making up all my "Mario the crazy guy"-stories.... Especially as i think i found out that some GM (i can give you names, but i won´t) REALLY tend to think that i am a weired maniac. they do not understand that GM Kreiner is a artificial thing and even approached me in a matter i do not like..... That makes me angry in some way as i think i really contributed much to this league.....

i retired from the FWL when all came tumbling down to my life at the same point. It is odd: even if all positive things happen in your life (all the things anyone else is dreaming of), your life is not "easier" but "different"

it was the right thing to do back then. FWL did not cost me much time but my head was far away and i lost interest after i climbed the top with my title in season#3.....

But i promise i will not retire unless something strange happens with the league.....

Well its very difficult to judge someones tone on email or a forum etc.  I've said to a few people to take what you say with a pinch of salt, if people didnt know you before in the FWL they might not understand your sense of humour or that you are joking etc.  Like i say on email/forums its very difificult to convey emotion and if you are joking or not.

Simply just stop the 'Mario is crazy' stories though !! Your the one who simply started all those !!!

Of course you have contributed tons to this league, i love GM's who trade a lot and you definately do that.  I think we have a nice mix of some quiet GM's, some GM's who trade an average amount and then GM's like you who are very active.

Its funny the FWL, in some ways i love winning and creating a dominant team which i finally did with the Surge as it took a long time, yet on the other hand some of the best fun is to rebuild a bad side and bounce back to winning ways.  I dont think David is bored with his great Montreal dynasty but on the other hand its a ton of fun (and patience !) to build a team like that.

Despite my record last year (i still cant believe that Sacramento were the worst team !) i think my team should bounce back, gonna start a few young players and see what happens.  I could still start my vets as i cant believe i'm that bad, had some injuries last year which didnt help etc but nows a time to start those youngsters
