well, as from this season I will not look anymore at the all pro selection.
If HB Jackson is the best HB in the european division with 236 for 796 8 td's.
Not talking bad about him but look at the following players with more yards and higher avg:
Heurta 194 for 1,006 9 td's (missed 4 games)
Aska 286 for 1,228 6 td's
Shelby 207 for 972 7 td's
I have no idea how this selection was made, just as I still do not understand that TE Winston did not make it in season 13, while my current TE made it! and he only played 8 games (or so) for the Admirals

i paid money to Paul for the selection as i wanted some ADKs in the list. Finally he put 11 ADKs on the list which is fine.
Well done, Paul and do not spend the money too soon......
(btw, Niki: this topic should not be posted in the "gameday" section....)

Well there were lots of strange selections, EFC players on the AFC team and visa versa.
Any players who are from the EFC who are on the EFC All FWL squad i leave, i only change the ones which are on the wrong side.
Yes the computer makes some strange decisions, there is a tool out there which lists the 'points' awarded to each player in the league after every game.
Basically look at the DarkKnight CB's, i dont rate them highly but because Austria won so many games they get more All FWL points i think.
I mean its like the NFL, any team who are the media darlings or the big name they get awards and All Pro nominations etc. Cowboys G Larry Allen would probably be in the All Pro team even if he played one game ! Patriots LB Teddy Bruschi was named Defensive Player of the week in his first start, didnt have a great game but it was more sentimental reasons.
I would change the All-FWL teams but i never have in all these seasons and its interesting to see the list. I dont agree with many but like i say the software awards points to each player. When you win you seem to get more points
Raiders QB Jeff George threw for 3900 yards, 29 td's and 9 ints in 1997, was he named All Pro ? Of course not , his team were 4-12.
Same with the FWL, if a back rushes for 800 yards and his team goes 12-2 he seems to be rated higher than a back who rushed for 1600 yards on a 9-5 team
(btw Mario, stop going on about what should be posted where ! Who cares !!

i disagree regarding my DBs as this unit played awesome and helped Austria to lead the league in
<) 1st in passer-rating against
<) 3rd passing-yards against
<) 1st in 1st-downs opponents
<) 1st in 3rd down conversions opponents (which is to me the most underrated stat when it comes to judge the strengh of a D...)
But i must admit maybe the strengh of the whole DB/LB-squad helped those CBs to be nominated.....

Yes i agree its a chicken and egg situation, your d-line and LB's helped make your secondary a great one.
But its the same in the NFL, put Terrell Owens on a poor passing team and his figures wont be huge
Andre Rison had huge years in Atlanta, joined Cleveland in a big money deal and bombed his first year as the Cleveland QB's were very poor. Same with Alvin Harper, great #2 in Dallas, when he was the #1 WR in Tampa Bay and had no one decent opposite him like Irvin or an All Pro TE like Novacek he bombed also.
I dont think the Austrian CB's are great but they are made to look brilliant by the d-line and LB's. Many teams have a great rush defense but poor pass defense as teams trail 30-0 and just pass pass their way against a soft defense (as the game is already won)
But respect to the Austrian defense, the secondary played very very well in a lot of tight games. But someone like Buck Rasmussan being a brilliant DE really helps the secondary

as far as i see it Austria set a new all-time-FWL-record by sending 11 players to the FWL-Pro-Bowl-game?
At least it is a new ADK-all-time-record, just 3 seasons after having just ONE nomination.....
The nice thing about it:
ALL 11 players came on board after my comeback, nobody of them was on the team when i took over 3 seasons ago. Nice, very nice.....

Not sure if that is a record or not, try looking at hon13, hon12.htm etc etc
But yeah its great for you as most of those players you traded for. You actually showed some patience as well with K John Anderson and QB Curt Anes. Both had nightmare first seasons for you but bounced back very well.
Proves that you should give someone at least 2 seasons before getting rid of them.
My WR Travis Anglin i was shopping around at the beginning of last year, after 4 awful first games he then settled down, was very good at WR2 and put up some good numbers for a second receiver and now with the retirement of Blundin he'll be WR1 next year

Why are there only two selections at CB instead of 3 as in previous years?

Well spotted ! Mistake on my part, just checking now. I have to do these hon14.htm type documents by hand you see.
The software often gets many players on the wrong sides, annoying as i then have to make the adjustments myself. It had James Roscoe as an AFC DT, Roscoe had a great year so i had to move him to the EFC side. Had to 'chop' off the last DT who was Jameson Kernutt. So if anything Kernutt is DT (2) All-FWL
Had to do quite a few changes on other places as the computer has a habit of picking some teams C3 I as an All-FWL T or something !

Just loaded up the game, the missing CB's (I'll update this later) are...
AFC - CB Shenard Newby (NY) CB (2)
EFC - CB Dempsy Dees (FRA) CB (2)

While we're on the subject of typos, you've got Pawlawski on the Knights, and
" Lambert despite not being the #1 seed in the EFC won some excellent games with last second victories in the regular season and did the same in the playoffs with two brilliant wins over Frankfurt and Austria."
As much as I would have definitely preferred that Frankfurt defeat itself in the playoffs and give me a bye to the EFC title game, I believe that first "brilliant win" came against London, not Frankfurt.

Busy morning today, depressed after the Raiders loss, tons of work to do and also all the FWL stuff to do this morning so it was all a bit hectic !

The Aztec's Defensive Linemen get no respect. Two seasons ago DT Bastian Lano had the best stats of any DT in the league, yet he was snubbed. Last season DE Akbar Gbaja-Biamil had the best stats of any defensive lineman in the league, yet he too was snubbed. In fact he and Mark Word were the two best DEs in the league and both were left out. Here is a comparison between their stats and the four DEs who won All-FWL honors.
DE Buck Rasmussan (ADK)- 39 tackles, 12 sacks
DE Danny Watts (Monarchs)- 30 tackles, 10 sacks
DE Demoine Adams (Knights)- 30 tackles, 11 sacks
DE Jonathan Browning (Riders)- 36 tackles, 14 sacks
DE Mark Word (Surge)- 39 tackles, 16 sacks
DE Akbar Gbaja-Biamil (Aztecs)- 44 tackles, 16 sacks

Difficult one really, to me its not always about sacks etc
When Buck Rasmussan went to Austria he turned that defense from a good defense into a great defense. To me Rasmussan was often double teamed which then made it easier for his other d-line players to get the sacks etc
At the end of the day all those players you mentioned made the playoffs, its similar in the NFL, if a player makes the playoffs theyre generally given more respect. Like i said earlier the software awards points to each player, when teams win i presume they get more points as many players on the All-FWL team are ones from teams who made the playoffs.
Both Word and Gbjaa-Biamil had great seasons, your player certainly did. When a DE or DT has a season with 40 + tackles and 10+ sacks thats a great year. 44 tackles for Biamil was amazing. Our time will come for our players !
