For all the years I played in the EFC, the EFC was consistently the more top-heavy conference. Teams sunk to the bottom of the EFC West pretty quickly, with no chance to come up for air. Meanwhile, five teams would consistently be in the race for the #3 seed in the AFC until the bitter end.

I move to the AFC East, and what happens? Four teams are deadlocked in second place in the EFC West, and the AFC East is an improbably top-heavy division.
