Not quite the big activity some thought there would be but there were a few pickups...

Ohio - Signed veteran Omar Bacon, Bacon has over 1,600 yards rushing and 20 td's in his career and another 1,500 yards receiving and 6 td's.  He led Berlin in rushing last year with over 500 yards but at a poor average.

Raleigh - Had a busy week signing WR CJ Jones, talented former Birmingham HB Joseph Smith and veteran T John Merandi

London - The Monarchs signed former Monarchs player LB Keith Miller.  Miller who has over 700 tackles and 42 sacks in his career rejoins London after a one year spell with New York.  Miller will only be a backup but adds great support

Huh R-D signed 3 FA but has no roster spot availble for any of them  Shocked
Was it not the rule: if you like to sign a FA you must have a empty roster spot or say which player you like to cut!
Yesterday R-D sent an email out that 4 players are available for trade (http://fwl.pocketplane.net/index.php?topic=705.0)

2 RB's vs FA Joseph Smith
1 WR vs FA CJ Jones
1 Oliner vs FA John Merandi

I don't think it is fair if R-D is trading away one of the above mention players and then make space on his roster for the FA

Well in the past its always been that way, people put in requests, i tell them who they get and then they have to tell me who to cut before the games otherwise theyre FA's again

As Raleigh need to cut 3 players i'm sure there may be teams out there waiting for hiim to cut 3 players and to pounce on them as a FA instead of trading with Raleigh for them.

We've always done it this way.  Plus in the end with only 3 teams going for FA's there wasnt a mad rush for them.  But you can see it the other way round, as Raleigh have 3 new FA's (if they sign them) then teams will know not to possibly trade for one of the 3 Raleigh players mentioned in the email as they may be FA's in a few days and then Raleigh get nothing

I'm stunned no one else put in a request for Joseph Smith as hes very good and better than many backups out there, i had to check my emails to make sure it wasnt a mistake that he was a FA

Well I am sorry if you were trying to get any of the players but I was not going to cut a player before I knew I was going to get a replacement for them and now I know I am I will cut some players.

@Paul: yes it is correct R-D needs to cut 3 players but when is the deadline for that? Sunday evening? in that case he still has a couple of days to try to trade away the players he offered yesterday.
@Mark: ofcourse you never want to cut players before you are for sure that you have the FA. but you can do it all in one instruction: Like to sign FA's HB Smith (when available cut player ....), WR Jones (when available cut player ...) etc etc.

Nobody knows if Mark already cut players after the FA and which players it are so he is still able to trade them away while Ohio and London cut a player at the moment they signed the FA.

Note: I am not saying Mark is doing it or has the intention to do it. it is just a possiblity. To cover situation we should avoid it! we can avoid it by saying that a team that like to sign a FA has to inform directly which player he like to cut or within a day.

Other question: what if I like to sign a FA after this weeks Free agent pickups, must I wait till after week 2 games or can I do it before it (not that I am interested in signing a player)

PLEASE will someone sign WR Frim who I have now cut. He has not got the best atributes but he is a great WR who can easly play at WR2 spot (as paul said) I was not talking him up when I offered him he really is very good, but sadly  he has to make way for a younger generation of WR's
