London Monarchs GM

The Aztecs helped shore up their defense this week by trading a 4th round pick to London for veteran CB Devon Harper. Harper is in his 8th season in the FWL but is a quality veteran and whos speed and leadership should get him a starting place on Mexicos defense.  Veteran safety Ronyell Whittaker has been crucified in the Mexican press because of his slow speed and soft hitting.  Harper could fill a void for Mexico at S or even at CB.

Harper was originally a 3rd round pick for Sacramento back in Season 10.  He started as a rookie and was the starting free safety in FWL Bowl X for the Surge where they defeated the Galaxy.  An FWL Bowl ring as a rookie was very special to Harper and he went to the playoffs several more times with the Surge.  He was traded to Amsterdam where he played for two years and both years went to the playoffs.  At Amsterdam Harper moved to CB and teamed up with legendary Jordan Younger to form one of the best 1-2 punches at CB in the league.  He eventually left Amsterdam to play for London, many Surge players had moved to the Monarchs and ex Surge GM Paul Johns also wanted Harper to join and he was traded to London and started at CB1 for several seasons.  The Monarchs soon traded for All-FWL CB Jeremy LeSuer and together LeSuer and Harper formed another great duo.

Harper has also been to the playoffs with every team he has played for.  With Sacramento he went 3 out of his 4 years with the Surge, Amsterdam twice in two years and with London once in his two years.    Harper has only played on a losing team twice in his 8 year career and joins one talented team in London to another with Mexico.

London had a lot of young talent at CB with Marcell Allmond and also Erwin Swiney so these players will be promoted to the starting lineup.  With a free roster space the Monarchs signed former Admirals HB Joseph Smith.  Smith who has scored 4 td's in the past with the Admirals helps bolster the Monarchs rushing attack as they had just 4 RB's on their roster.
